Gurmukhs (like lotus) reside in the innate house of pleasure fruit and utilize the present time fully i.e. they don't sit idle.

To the ordinary people busy in mundane affairs, they (gurmukhs) look engrossed in the world, and, to the people pondering over Vedas, they (gurmukhs) look engaged in rituals.

It bears the impact of air, water and cold but still keeping its head inverse, it remains steadfast at its place.

The way of gurmukhs is unapproachable, just like the path of fish in water is unknowable.

As the path of birds flying in the sky cannot be known, the thoughtful and search-orientated way of gurmukhs is also imperceptible. It cannot be understood.

chaar varan tanbol ras piram piaalai rang charandaa |
As the four colors of betel catechu, betelnut, lime and betel lead become one (red) color (of joy-giving love), the gurmukhs also enjoy the cup of the Lord's love.

giaan dhiaan simaran jugat koonj kooram hans vans vadhandaa |
By means of knowledge, meditation and remembrance, they (gurmukhs), like the cranes, tortoise and swans, expand their family or tradition.

Brahmas, along with the Vedas, have declared Him - this is not, this is not (neti neti) and these all could not know His mystery.

By becoming avadhut (a kind of superior yogi), Mahadev also recited his name, but his meditation could not attain him.

Nine naths, the treasures of miraculous powers, also bowed before that Lord.

Sesang (mythical snake) with its thousand mouths, remembered Him by thousands of names, but its recitation could not be accomplished.
