Maaroo, Anjulee ~ With Hands Cupped In Prayer, Fifth Mehl, Seventh House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

Ik-oamkkaari satigur prsaadi ||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਹੂਆ ॥

संजोगु विजोगु धुरहु ही हूआ ॥

Sanjjogu vijogu dhurahu hee hooaa ||

Union and separation are ordained by the Primal Lord God.

ਪੰਚ ਧਾਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਕੀਆ ॥

पंच धातु करि पुतला कीआ ॥

Pancch dhaatu kari putalaa keeaa ||

The puppet is made from the five elements.

ਸਾਹੈ ਕੈ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਅੜੈ ਜੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਇ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥

साहै कै फुरमाइअड़ै जी देही विचि जीउ आइ पइआ ॥१॥

Saahai kai phuramaaia(rr)ai jee dehee vichi jeeu aai paiaa ||1||

By the Command of the Dear Lord King, the soul came and entered into the body. ||1||

ਜਿਥੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਭਖੈ ਭੜਹਾਰੇ ॥

जिथै अगनि भखै भड़हारे ॥

Jithai agani bhakhai bha(rr)ahaare ||

In that place, where the fire rages like an oven,

ਊਰਧ ਮੁਖ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੇ ॥

ऊरध मुख महा गुबारे ॥

Uradh mukh mahaa gubaare ||

In that darkness where the body lies face down

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ ਓਥੈ ਖਸਮਿ ਛਡਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥੨॥

सासि सासि समाले सोई ओथै खसमि छडाइ लइआ ॥२॥

Saasi saasi samaale soee othai khasami chhadaai laiaa ||2||

- there, one remembers his Lord and Master with each and every breath, and then he is rescued. ||2||

ਵਿਚਹੁ ਗਰਭੈ ਨਿਕਲਿ ਆਇਆ ॥

विचहु गरभै निकलि आइआ ॥

Vichahu garabhai nikali aaiaa ||

Then, one comes out from within the womb,

ਖਸਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਦੁਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥

खसमु विसारि दुनी चितु लाइआ ॥

Khasamu visaari dunee chitu laaiaa ||

And forgetting his Lord and Master, he attaches his consciousness to the world.

ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਭਵਾਈਐ ਜੋਨੀ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਕਿਤਹੀ ਥਾਇ ਭਇਆ ॥੩॥

आवै जाइ भवाईऐ जोनी रहणु न कितही थाइ भइआ ॥३॥

Aavai jaai bhavaaeeai jonee raha(nn)u na kitahee thaai bhaiaa ||3||

He comes and goes, and wanders in reincarnation; he cannot remain anywhere. ||3||

ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਿ ਰਖਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ॥

मिहरवानि रखि लइअनु आपे ॥

Miharavaani rakhi laianu aape ||

The Merciful Lord Himself emancipates.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਥਾਪੇ ॥

जीअ जंत सभि तिस के थापे ॥

Jeea jantt sabhi tis ke thaape ||

He created and established all beings and creatures.

ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜਿਣਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਥਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੧॥

जनमु पदारथु जिणि चलिआ नानक आइआ सो परवाणु थिआ ॥४॥१॥३१॥

Janamu padaarathu ji(nn)i chaliaa naanak aaiaa so paravaa(nn)u thiaa ||4||1||31||

Those who depart after having been victorious in this priceless human life - O Nanak, their coming into the world is approved. ||4||1||31||

मारू महला ५ ॥

Maaroo mahalaa 5 ||

Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

ਵੈਦੋ ਨ ਵਾਈ ਭੈਣੋ ਨ ਭਾਈ ਏਕੋ ਸਹਾਈ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੇ ॥੧॥

वैदो न वाई भैणो न भाई एको सहाई रामु हे ॥१॥

Vaido na vaaee bhai(nn)o na bhaaee eko sahaaee raamu he ||1||

The One Lord alone is our help and support; neither physician nor friend, nor sister nor brother can be this. ||1||

ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਮਲੋ ਧੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ਹੇ ॥੨॥

कीता जिसो होवै पापां मलो धोवै सो सिमरहु परधानु हे ॥२॥

Keetaa jiso hovai paapaan malo dhovai so simarahu paradhaanu he ||2||

His actions alone come to pass; He washes off the filth of sins. Meditate in remembrance on that Supreme Lord. ||2||

ਘਟਿ ਘਟੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਥਾਨੁ ਹੇ ॥੩॥

घटि घटे वासी सरब निवासी असथिरु जा का थानु हे ॥३॥

Ghati ghate vaasee sarab nivaasee asathiru jaa kaa thaanu he ||3||

He abides in each and every heart, and dwells in all; His seat and place are eternal. ||3||

ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਹੇ ॥੪॥

आवै न जावै संगे समावै पूरन जा का कामु हे ॥४॥

Aavai na jaavai sangge samaavai pooran jaa kaa kaamu he ||4||

He does not come or go, and He is always with us. His actions are perfect. ||4||

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਣਹਾਰਾ ॥

भगत जना का राखणहारा ॥

Bhagat janaa kaa raakha(nn)ahaaraa ||

He is the Savior and the Protector of His devotees.

ਸੰਤ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥

संत जीवहि जपि प्रान अधारा ॥

Santt jeevahi japi praan adhaaraa ||

The Saints live by meditating on God, the support of the breath of life.

ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ਹੇ ॥੫॥੨॥੩੨॥

करन कारन समरथु सुआमी नानकु तिसु कुरबानु हे ॥५॥२॥३२॥

Karan kaaran samarathu suaamee naanaku tisu kurabaanu he ||5||2||32||

The Almighty Lord and Master is the Cause of causes; Nanak is a sacrifice to Him. ||5||2||32||
